Animation Character Design Drawing: What is expected to earn a high evaluation?
One sharp / clean line drawing of the full body of your character including any clothes and props
- joints and muscles are included, accurately formed and placed
- clothes and props accurately fall on the body, garment folds have been
included
4 angles or points of view
- joints and muscles are included, accurately formed and placed based on the
angle of view
4 facial expressions
- clear emotional expressions are communicated to the viewer through
movement / morphing of facial features
- the “look” of the face is consistent through all facial drawings
3 movement drawings
- accurate perspective has been used (example: hand outstretched in front
should appear larger than usual)
- character is clearly in a moving position (example: kicking, running,
bending, jumping)
- maintains the “look” of the character with joints and muscles included,
accurately formed and placed based on the movement of the character
typed or CLEARLY WRITEN name and description of character including wants, needs, obstacles, age, personality …describe them as if someone asked you to tell them about your close friend
