We have been looking at the work of famous portrait photographers and how they creatively capture the context and character of their subjects. Read through the textbook chapter on portraiture. Look at some examples online. Compose 2-3 creative portraits of one family member or friend. Make the lighting great!! Save on usb for editing, post online.
On your stick note, record examples of manufactured landscapes you have been experienced during this week. Bring stick note to next class. Using the photography that you saw in the documentary as inspiration, find a location that is a "manufactured landscape" and artistically compose and post one image to your website. Create a title "....something . manufactured landscape #1". Take time to carefully compose it. Perhaps compose several images and then pick your best to submit. Remember to save your original on your usb stick, bring it to class for editing. If you need help with ideas check out the videos of the "Learning from Professionals" page.
You must bring your best work to this photography show!! You must have 4 or more images with similar subjects all based on one theme. These images must tell a story or express a meaning beyond just the photos themselves. Use the subjects to express your theme. You must also have a plan for how you will display your work in the school foyer.
Your work will be graded on the following: quality of composition /5 consistent subjects /5 creativity in choice and arrangement of subjects /5 photos express the theme /10 display method is safe, creative and enhances your photos /5 /30 Think of a magazine that already exists or make up your own concept for a magazine (MUST BE PG). Compose and image for the front cover of your chosen magazine. You have to think this through even before you take the photo. Where will the text on the cover go on top of your photo? Setup your photo so that it is eye catching since its the first thing that draws the customer to your magazine. But leave room for text. Once you have got a suitable photo and an idea follow the instructions in the link under Art How To's / Graphic Design Resources
