DO YOU HAVE CAMPING GEAR?? CAN WE BORROW IT!! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a description of camping gear we can borrow. examples: car top carrier bag, 4+ person tent, propane stove, family size cooler, tarp, rope, cooking dishes. PLEASE bring camping gear to the school Art Studio (room 134) on Monday, Sept.10 before 3:30pm so we can be sure we have all the required supplies a head of time. Students bring your personal gear on Sept.13.
For students to attend they MUST submit $210 by 8:30am, Wednesday, Sept.5. Cheques made payable to Burnsview Secondary School with students first and last name on the memo line of the cheques.
Are you joining in a group surf lesson? The cost per student is $80. This includes the lesson, wetsuit and surfboard. Have your parents fill out the surf waiver form - see link below. Submit a surf waiver form and cheque for surfing made out to Burnsview Secondary School by Sept.5 at 8:30am or you will miss your chance.
Burnsview Secondary School Consent and Waiver Form must be signed before your child can attend this trip. See a link at the bottom of this page. A paper copy will be given to all students.
Items students must bring:
money for 2 meals at a local restaurant ($15 - $20 per meal), and money for one fast food stop on route to Tofino
warm sleeping - temperatures change drastically on the coast from 20C during the day to 5C at night, and it feels colder on the coast.
small personal sized air mattress
breathable water proof shell jacket with hood - it can be sunny and hot one hour, raining the next, weather constantly changes in Tofino
plastic jar with sealed lid for transporting water for painting on the trail
hiking boots or very sturdy walking shoes with grip
SMALL lawn chair
swim suit if you are taking a surfing lesson
camera if you have one
one plate, large mug for chilli or coffee, knife, fork, spoon - you will have to eat with your hands or off a piece of bark if you forget these items : )
