Give the photos a title
When you first see the photos without reading the article, what words / phrases immediately come to mind?
Now read the article and look at the photos again. Is the story the same as what you thought? Explain.
What composition "tools" do you see? (Rule of thirds, framing, high contrast lighting, unique background, angle of view, perspective)
What elements of design do you see that are used effectively? (colour, texture, form, shape, line, balance, symmetry etc.)
How do the photos, there subjects and the composition visually tell the story?
Now make your own photo essay about a personal story or a story about someone or something in your surroundings? PLEASE NO PHOTO ESSAYS OF YOUR PET CHI WOWA!!!
You will be graded on:
clear intentional use of composition "tools" (rule of thirds, framing, large range of lighting from dark to light, unique background, angle of view, perspective, etc) At least 4 of these must be present in your photos.
WANT TO GET AN "A" .... LOOK AT PROFESSIONAL EXAMPLES and imitate them as best you can
main subject of photos is in focus or in rare cases has been intentionally blurred as part of the story
clear intentional use of elements of design (colour, texture, form, shape, line, balance, symmetry etc.)
At least 3 of these must be present.
The viewer can mostly understand the story without reading your article. Your photos tell the story well and make sense to your viewer.
Your article text enhances the story seen in your photos, and adds interesting details that makes your viewer want to read more. The text is well written with complete sentences. There are no glaring typos or grammatical errors.
